Job Description

Town Planner
Brisbane | Private Consultancy

A well-regarded planning consultancy is looking to appoint a Town Planner to join its Brisbane team.

This is an opportunity to join an established consultancy working across a broad range of development projects throughout Queensland. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering considered planning advice and maintaining excellent long-term client relationships.

They are seeking someone who can step in and contribute across the full planning process while managing projects with a reasonable level of autonomy.

The Role

Working closely with senior planning professionals, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and managing development applications
  • Undertaking planning assessments and site investigations
  • Providing planning advice to clients throughout project lifecycles
  • Liaising with councils and relevant authorities
  • Coordinating input from external consultants
  • Managing project timelines and deliverables
  • Preparing reports, submissions and supporting documentation

About You

To be considered, you will bring:

  • Prior town planning experience within a consultancy environment
  • Experience preparing development applications
  • Understanding of Queensland planning frameworks and approval pathways
  • Strong written communication and report writing skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Confidence dealing with clients, consultants and authorities
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or similar
  • Australian working rights and driver’s licence

Why this role

This is a solid opportunity for a planner wanting to join a respected team with quality work, a professional client base, and strong long-term career prospects.

The environment would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and wants to be part of a consultancy with a strong reputation in the market and to work with an experienced team.
